Insiders' View #1
U.N. weapons inspectors Hans Blix and Mohamed ElBaradei have each recently provided revealing "insiders'" accounts of prewar decisionmaking in Baghdad, Paris, London, & Washington:
In interviews with NPR & CNN, former chief UN weapons inspector Blix talks about the problems with prewar U.S. & British claims regarding supposed Iraqi chemical, biological, and nuclear weapons. He describes conversations with key leaders, & argues that policymakers' strong beliefs led them to suspend "critical judgment" about the flaws in the supposed "evidence" of Iraqi weapons.
The CNN interview also includes comments along similar lines by Mohamed ElBaradei, director of the International Atomic Energy Agency.
Well worth reading, whatever your views on the war.
