So, yesterday afternoon, I took advantage of the non-freezing temperatures and clear skies to bike up to

sarrabellum's place for their son Haven's birthday. The views en route were like something out of The Sound of Music: the mountains were "out" and looking altogether Alpine--gigantic and snowy. The air was bracing enough to leave me looking rather purple by the time that I arrived, although this was swiftly remedied via hot buttered rum. The visit was brief, just enough time to play a round of Quelf with

crustycupcake and our hosts, have a little cake, and watch Haven open his presents. It was nice to see everyone, interesting to see how Haven is growing up. (I think that

sarrabellum has mentioned that he has a girlfriend, all of a sudden ...)

sleepwhenimdead was then kind enough to give me and my bike a ride back to the city, as the sun was setting and all of that moisture I'd seen on the roadways earlier was no doubt turning to black ice.
