Izzy's learned to fetch:
Izzyfetch1

Izzyfetch2

Izzyfetch3

Izzy033108

She started with a rolled-up wad of tape, and has more recently graduated to an actual rubber ball. She brings it back, drops it at my feet, even pants like a dog.

What a lovely kitty! I have such a soft spot for torties (and am convinced they're smarter than other colors).

I've known several cats to fetch, intermittently or reliably. Panting's a bit more odd.

Yeah, the panting was the weirdest part. Then again, she'd just spent about twenty minutes careening around the apartment. She was probably just over-excited.

What, you didn't want a puppy that purrs? :D

You do know that this is the first step to "it's 3 am and someone has to get up to play catch with me!". right?

Might be a problem, except that I've been known to sleep through fire alarms ...

I don't know if you should take her to the off-leash dog area yet, but have you tried giving her a rawhide bone? ;)

Not a bad idea, actually: she does love to gnaw on stuff.

Now that's cute. Our late cat would play handball (or would that be "pawball?") with his little sparkly ball toys. Our current cat seems to only be interested in "chase the kitty" and "gnaw on the human."

Izzy's big on "gnaw the human," too. And "gnaw the furniture," "gnaw the shower curtain," "gnaw the rug," "gnaw the shoes," etc.
