To those of you in the Seattle area: If you missed Book-It Repertory Theater's clever, hilarious, insightful original adaptation of Cervantes' Don Quixote earlier this fall (... and you're in to that sort of thing ...), well, you have another chance! The University of Washington is holding a 3-day celebration of "The Living Art of Miguel de Cervantes" during the first week of December (in honor of the 400th anniversary of Don Quixote's publication), including another performance of Book-It's "Don Quixote" on the evening of December 2 (7:30 PM at the U's Ethnic Cultural Theater). There's also a series of related scholarly events and a concert in honor of Cervantes, that week. I don't know whether the Terry Gilliam movie will ever actually get made, but this play is the best dramatization of the novel I've seen.
