So I'm back in Dilbert-land, sitting in a cubicle shuffling virtual paper: I started the new job, Monday.

The biggest changes that this has entailed in my day-to-day life: I have health insurance, again--for the first time in a couple months. Next week, my income will take a nice, comfortable bump upward--enough to permit me to start saving money, again. Our office has lovely 360-degree view of downtown; my coworkers are energetic and fun; and the hours are predictable--people rarely stay past 5:00. I have a free bus pass, again, for the first time in years.

Alas, my former employer doesn't seem to have accepted my departure, yet. They called me this morning, asking if I "missed" them, and suggesting that if I came back they might be able to whip up a job involving more financial security, this time.

I suppose that this might have seemed more tempting if they'd mentioned it before I left ...
