saavedra77: Back to the byte mines ... (sorrow)

My older cat, Puig, finally succumbed to his cancer, this weekend.  He'd been on medication for several weeks, which had at first restored him to at least a semblance of normal health.  But, as we knew it likely would, the cancer eventually became refractory to the meds.  Puig's condition began to noticeably deteriorate again about a week ago.  As of Friday night, he couldn't even stand up any more, and was making the most pitiful sounds.  By morning, there was just no denying it, so I called the vet and we agreed that it was time.

He went peacefully.

I am so sorry, I was really hoping he'd pull through.

Thanks, H: I was hoping he'd scrape by this time, too. But it turned out that it was cancer, and, as you & I discussed a few weeks ago, the prognosis in that case wasn't good.

As someone else said, too much of this going around.

I'm sorry. I lost my first cat to feline leukemia.

Oh man, I'm so sorry. He was a great cat and you had some good times together. I guess he had a good run, but it's always hard.

How's Zoe takin' it? And howabout you?

I've been pretty broken up about it, off and on; but like you said, he had a good run. He was a pretty happy guy, until the illness really stareted in, a few weeks ago.

Zoe isn't moping the way Puig did when Delirium was taken away, but she's gotten much clingier & needier than usual.

I'm so sorry. Our fuzzy boy just died three weeks ago. Too much of that going around.

I'm so very sorry. He was a sweet old guy, and I know how much you love him.

I'm sad that he's no longer with us.

Yeah, he was pretty much The Best Cat Ever, to me. :)

You know, I had a dream, last night, in which I walked through my apartment finding Puig perched in one room, Gregor lounging in another. I guess that they're both now more or less permanent fixtures of my mental landscape.

I'm really sorry for you. I almost lost both my cats two weeks ago, and I was hysterical. I can only imagine how you must be feeling.

I can only imagine how you must be feeling: at least I still have my younger cat, Zoe. I'm terribly sorry about your loss, R.
