Make Up Your Mind, Willya?

Yesterday, the company I work for decided to grant me a temporary reprieve from the planned layoff, because of several specific projects they need my help with.  They now want me to stay until May 5th.

Since I don't have another job lined up yet, my first reaction is "Yay!  Full pay for another 3 weeks!"  (Plus 3 weeks' vacation after that ...)

My second reaction is, "Oh my God, I have to work here for another month...?!"  (It says something about how much I dislike this job that I have even the least mental hesitation about accepting another 3 weeks of paid employment ...)

So my farewell party may have to double as a Cinco de Mayo event ...

I totally understand who you feel. My company has been hinting that it might try contracting me after they let me go.

It's sloggy. I keep hearing the market out there is great, but that mostly seems to be for Java programmers.

I do have a tour at a place tomorrow that seems to like me, so fingers crossed...
