Det. Frank Pembleton: By all reliable accounts, there's not a single drop of water to pass between heaven and hell. Hell is a dry heat.
Det.Tim Bayliss: Oh. Well, book me a flight.

No kidding.

I wish I had a weather-thermometer so I could gauge just how hot this place is right now.

About to take my fourth shower of the day...

What's killing me is that it's actually fucking humid, today. WTF?! Seattle's supposed to be either hot or wet, not both at once!

[livejournal.com profile] ryuusama and I checked out the Bite of Seattle, this afternoon, and took a ride up the Space Needle to check out the cloudless view. (She'd never been up there.) Stepping back outside afterward was like, as someone said on NPR today, "walking into a wall of soup."

Wall of soup is pretty apt. How was Bite of Seattle?

The funny thing was that almost all of the food on offer was hot: BBQ, tandoori, Philly cheese steak. It was like: "Here: Eat this and raise your body temperature even further! And buy an expensive chilled drink to go with it! Better yet, buy two!"

The coolest thing we could find to eat were crepes.

Also, the music mostly sucked: a lot of "cool jazz" by old white guys.

There was this one salsa band that was pretty hoppin', though--reminded me that I need to learn to dance. :-)

Ahh, bummer. I had trouble with food today, too. No desire to eat anything that wasn't frozen!

Too bad about the music!

Hi Tony

Sorry this is off topic for your post, but I was unable to send you return email.

I wanted to thank you for your comments on my icon work. I hope the available icon site wasn't too unmanageable - I tore it apart some months ago and never quite got around to fixing it. I have about 6 months worth of stuff that's siting in the folders. Hopefully, this will encourage me to finish the clean up. Your own icons (I had to go and peek) show a fair amount of crossover to things that interest me. I was especially taken by your Brian Blessed from Flash Gordon.

I didn't even realize there was a homicide community - I'll have to check that out.

I had a moment of panic over the Basheer icon you asked about - I'm rather compulsive about saving the parts to my graphics and I couldn't find him.He finally turned up in the Next generation folder! I must have been asleep when I sorted him.

Here he is, textless.

Thanks very much, fileg! I'm sure that there'll be plenty of days when that icon fits my mood to a T!

Sorry about the email: I have a very protective spamblocking system--basically, I can only get email from people whose email addresses are already in my address book, and I neglected to add you after sending you that message.

Feel free to adopt any of the avatars I'm using, if they strike your fancy. Wherever possible, I've listed the icon's creator--as I will with yours.
