Lost Weekend
Oct. 2nd, 2006 10:23 pmI woke up with a beauty of a hangover on Sunday, unsure what--if anything--I'd manage to do with the day.
A 10:00 phone call from my friend Aimee decided the matter, though: apparently, it was to be Indian food, followed by the beach. I took an Advil, drank about a liter of water, showered, and we were off to Maharaja.
I hadn't seen Aimee since earlier in the summer, when I had been unemployed and had helped her start building her new deck. We had a fair amount of catching up to do.
Lunch was fantabulous, and was followed by a brief stroll thorugh of the Cap Hill farmer's market, a long lazy drive up to Ballard (scene of last night's debaucheries) and an hour of lying on the beach at Golden Gardens, digging our toes in the sand and nattering away about various things. It was a pleasant way to wind down the weekend.
It was over way too soon--I had to be back in town by 5:00 to meet
verbicide for the ol' DVD switcheroo. But of course, I've got to have my vid fix ...
All in all, the weekend went down like a glass of lemonade on the hottest day of the year. Sweet, but ... more please!
