What I (Apparently) Believe ...

If I'd taken this a few years back, I suspect that Mahayana would have scored higher. But I'm more comfortable with that ol' time Buddhism, at this point in my life--if it was good enough for ol' Gautama ...

Date: 2007-05-12 12:15 am (UTC)People with any of those beliefs tend to be more open and tolerant of other beliefs. I personally find that very attractive, and thus they represent a lot of my friends here. Happily, there is enough diversity here that I have also found fascinating open minded friends who have strong religious beliefs in areas that I tend to find less open minded on average.
As far as the test, I think there are several black/white distinctions made. Probably the most significant is the belief in a superior being. You are pretty much forced to say exists or does not exist in several questions. That may be a reasonable line to draw, but my answers would suggest a higher level of confidence in "not exist" than I truly feel. And that leads to the beliefs you mentioned rising to the top.
