Catching My Breath
Nov. 8th, 2004 05:40 pmSpent 14 hours @ the polls on election day: coordinating reminder calls & rides to the polls. This after devoting evenings and weekends throughout October to knocking on doors & phoning people, to get out the vote. After the polls closed, I went to a post-election party with some other volunteers to watch my side lose on TV.
No good deed going unpunished, had my preferred means of transportation--a silver Marin Larkspur if anybody sees it (ha, ha)--stolen from outside the polling place, that night.
At work the next day, my boss asked me semi-seriously how I felt about moving the office to Vancouver.
Hmmmm: same weather as here, less embarrassing national leadership ...
